Black&Yellow Liner

Yellow eyeliner! Who would’ve thought? My first thought was “Yellow liner? Ew no. Just no.”  But years ago I saw an Avon add with yellow and black eyeliner. I remember thinking it was so original and artsy, and actually really liked it! I couldn’t wait to try it from then on. Today, I finally did a post on it!

It sounds like something you can’t just wear out. But it’s really no more ‘stand-out’ than white or silver, and definitely no more than blue or purple. In fact, people have to look twice to realize it’s a wacky color! I think it’s a very nice color accent to brighten a look, and goes well with a black or grey outfit, neutral lips, and peachy blush.

The cream and mousse blushes seem to be more flattering in the summer when I’m not wearing a lot of makeup. They blend in well with the dewy skin.

The powders all are great for winter, and I usually have a powdery base. The MAC “Melba” color, however, looks better with a tan in the summer.

It still works in the winter with certain outfits/makeup looks though. Pink usually works better for me in the winter.

The shimmer in the Bourjois and the Maybelline blushes look very dazzling and flattering in sunlight. But if overly applied, it would look “overdone” and too sparkly rather than lightly shimmery.

Blush makes all the difference. Pink, and some peachy colors, are for me! What’s your blush color?

Blush It Up!

There’s nothing like a fresh rosy cheek to brighten one’s face up.

Most women are afraid to use a lot of blush, but if applied properly, it can make a stunning and beautiful difference!
